Cause of Spider Veins: Are You Aware of It?

Human species are truly vain. They do really put effort and time to make sure that they look and feel good about themselves. And why not? This is one way to develop self-confidence and self-reliance. It seems like the world is definitely their center stage.

There are some cases, though, when you know that something is robbing you of the confidence that you are trying hard to build. You can no longer strut confidently with your miniskirt or go out of your home without those concealers. Are you being controlled by your spider veins?

If you are looking for the ultimate cause of spider veins, then you are going to end up with zilch. Until now nobody can give you a straight answer to that. But then again, perhaps it will make things a little bit easier for you to know that there are a couple of factors that may lead to spider veins:

1. Genetics. Perhaps men will heave a little sigh of relief to know that women tend to develop spider veins more than them. What’s more, if they have any ancestors who are suffering with the same condition, they are more likely to acquire it. Based on studies, weak valves can be acquired. These too can be your basis as to what age you can probably develop one or that if you are prone to spider veins.

2. It’s the raging hormones. What happens when you undergo menopause, pregnancy, or when you are under too much stress? Your hormones, such as your estrogen as well as progesterone, are modified. Your vein walls and valves, however, tend to weaken. When there is too much blood pressure exerted, then hormonal changes can be a cause of spider veins.

3. Body injuries. Men are prone to spider veins when they develop injuries because of blow-outs of varicose veins found near the spider veins. The extreme pressure coming from the blow-out veins will enlarge and stretch the other adjoining superficial veins. Thus, they become bigger in diameter and appear darker.

4. Too much standing or sitting. If your job requires you to be standing or sitting most of the time, then maybe you have bigger chances of developing spider veins. This is because the muscles are so rested they cannot help circulate the blood back to the heart and vice versa. This, in turn, exerts pressure into the walls of your veins-thus, spider veins.

The cause of spider veins, even if left unknown, can be prevented. You need to exercise, with emphasis on the legs or load yourself with healthy vitamins to promote proper blood circulation. If you can, you may opt to consult a doctor and ask if there are surgical treatments that will help solve your cosmetic problem.
