The Minnesotan Cancer Cure Quest led by Daniel K Conners and Biothera

Daniel K. Conners started what would become one of the most important cancer research companies of our time in the basement of his Minnesota home during the mid 1990s.

After more than a decade, Conners company is testing a specific immunotherapy drug that works synergistically with monoclonal antibodies to engage natural immune cells to destroy cancer. This groundbreaking cancer treatment is being tested in trials, but the beginning results are attracting interest from principal oncologists and drug companies.

Excited about the possibility of the technology to significantly advance the outcomes for cancer patients, researchers such as Daniel K Conners feel that Biothera is on the forefront of carbohydrate biotechnology and its relevance for a cancer cure.

Led by Daniel K Conners, Biothera is not only creating cancer drugs, has developed on the same technology platform an immune health component. Currently Biothera manufactures and markets non-pharmaceutical (food-grade) elements for beverages, dietary supplements, cosmetics and animal nutrition. With an increasing industry and tremendous increases in sales of immune-enhancing technologies Biothera expects large revenues as it captures market share.

With more than forty U.S. patents and patents pending, Biotheras intellectual property rights are becoming substantial. Additionally the company also has additional patent filings in more than 20 other countries. Over fifty employees, with more than half focused on the research and development, the company expects more to come. Currently the companys labs are at its headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota.

Biopolymer Engineering, Inc was founded by Daniel K Conners in 1997 and later renamed Biothera. Biothera now focuses on the manufacturing and improvement of innate complex carbohydrates. Bioploymer Engineering was recognized as a principal in the purification, characterization and production of a variety of carbohydrates. However, Biotheras platform technology carbohydrate predates the company.

Researchers at a variety of universities for years have studied specific carbohydrates in fungi, cereals and bacteria and have recognized a tie between these polysaccharides and the immune system. However prior to Daniel K Conners work at Biothera Company, no one had completely identified the specific processes of action these carbohydrates use to effect immune response function.
